Limbogott

Limbogott are quickly becoming industrial-shock-metal extraordinaires, but their first 2 albums were sung entirely in English, a language not native to this German group. It looks like things are changing, though… at least for “Haus der Lüge”, the song they teamed up with Chris Pohl of Blutengel to record. But “Haus der Lüge” is not just the band’s first song recorded in German. It is also the first single from their forthcoming third album Spit or Swallow. And now you can download it as an MP3 file for free!

Head over to e-junkie.com to download “Haus der Lüge”, Limbogott’s Christmas present to their fans. (Be sure to hurry, because it’s only available for free until December 31st.) The song is likely to be an indication about how Limbogott’s sound is progressing, but will the German lyrics make it over to the rest of the songs on Spit or Swallow? We’ll just have to wait and find out in the time leading up to it’s February 13th release date.

Limbogott\'s third album Spit Or Swallow produced by Jay Gordon

Once upon a time, I recommended listening to the completely insane industrial metal band Limbogott while smashing various objects… hopefully the inanimate kind. A year has gone by since then so it’s time for an update. Limbogott is currently working on their third album called Spit Or Swallow which has a February 2009 release in sight on Tiefdruck Musik. And while there hasn’t been many details announced yet, we do know that the album is being produced and mixed in Los Angeles by none other than Jay Gordon!

If you don’t already know who Jay Gordon is (and you probably should), he is the voice of the American band Orgy, best known for their cover of New Order’s “Blue Monday”. Jay also played bass on Deadsy’s debut album Commencement and has collaborated with the likes of Linkin Park, Coal Chamber, and Jonathan Davis of Korn, among others. With that kind of experience, Limbogott is in good hands. Let’s hope this relationship can help out with a US release and maybe even a tour over here.

Limbogott’s first new single “Recide” should be released some time before the album and will feature Jay as a guest vocalist. You can bet we’ll be on top of this as more news emerges.

Limbogott

Are you into really hard music that makes you want to smash everything in sight? Limbogott is the band for you. Their debut album One Minute Violence from 2005 is disturbingly heavy with relentless guitar riffs, massive pounding beats, and awesome synth overtones. The vocals remind me a bit of Marilyn Manson at times, but the music is about 1,000 times more badass. Sonic Seducer gave One Minute Violence a 10 out of 10 and named it their album of the month when it was first released. In their review, they commented, “Limbogott are loud, aggressive, schizophrenic, bad tempered, self-destructive and hopelessly insane.” I really don’t think I can describe them any better than that.

You will have to hear the music for yourself on Limbogott’s MySpace page. Be sure to listen to the bottom 2 songs first. The top 2 are still awesome, but they are more recent. One is a remix and the other is from their 2006 followup album Pharmaboy. That’s another album that’s tough as nails, but I recommend Limbogott’s debut One Minute Violence first. Enjoy your rampage.
