Emigrate’s 3rd single “Temptation” was supposed to be released at the end of January, according to one news post on the band’s website. Obviously that didn’t happen, but Emigrate’s latest email newsletter announced that it will finally be released on March 7th. In addition to the featured track, the single will have 2 previously unreleased songs, “Face Down” and “I Have A Dream” plus the first 2 Emigrate music videos.
The newsletter also says that this single will only be released as a physical CD. There will be no digital downloads available. I’m not too sure how smart that is these days. And on top of that, the CD will only be released in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. So much for making music accessible to your fans. If you want to buy Temptation, you will have to hop on over to a German webstore like Amazon.de which has it for EUR 6.99.
In case you were wondering, the background photo on the cover is of New York City, looking south with Jersey City on the other side of the river.

First, just a quick reminder to let all my American friends know that Emigrate’s debut album was finally released in the USA yesterday, January 29th. There are 2 versions: the standard version has the same 11 songs as the original release, but the limited edition has 2 bonus tracks, “Blood” and “Help Me”. You can find both at Newbury Comics, but the copies they had with an autographed booklet have already sold out.
Australia will also get both versions of Emigrate on February 2nd.

Second, Emigrate is also working on the release of their 3rd single. This time, it will be for the song “Temptation”. It was supposed to be released sometime at the “end of January” according to Emigrate.eu, but I haven’t seen it anywhere. I think it’s safe to say at this point that it will likely be released in February. No matter when this new single sees the light of day, we know that it will also feature the previous 2 singles “My World” and “New York City” and will also boast 2 yet-unreleased tracks called “Face Down” and “I Have A Dream”. Bonus features include music videos for the first 2 singles. I’ll update you when the exact tracklist and release date are officially announced.
Rammstein fans the world over were very excited when Richard Kruspe finally released his solo project album Emigrate, and rightfully so. But just like Rammstein has been known for, Emigrate’s album wasn’t actually released and distributed in the United States when it came out in Europe on August 31st. So far, if we wanted to get the album here, we have had to either import the CD from overseas or buy it from a retailer who did that for us.
Fortunately, Richard hasn’t totally forgotten about us over here. Emigrate will finally be released in the USA on January 28th, 2008. While that’s still a few months away, I am certainly glad it hasn’t taken as long as some other Rammstein releases took to get here. (*cough* Völkerball *cough*) Actually, I don’t even know if the news is official yet. It’s not on their website, nor has an email newsletter hasn’t been sent out yet. Richard (or someone) just sent out a simple MySpace bulletin with a brief 1-line statement. But hey, it’s news, and it’s good news, so now you know.
It’s Friday, September 28th, and if this date sounds familiar it’s because there are a lot of new German music releases out today. There’s a little bit of everything for you… industrial, metal, gothic, rock, and pop. Here’s a quick overview of these 8 new releases just to refresh your memory. Click on the bold title to read the full article and get the tracklist for that album or single.
Eisheilig’s new album features plenty of dark, gothic rock sounds that have gained them quite a following in recent years. Ten new tracks will keep you company when you’re feeling down.
“New York City” is the first single from Emigrate, Rammstein guitarist Richard Kruspe’s side project. The single has 3 album songs plus a remix of “New York City” by Alec Empire and the “My World” music video which is based on the new movie Resident Evil: Extinction.
Juli has become one of the most popular pop rock bands in Germany over the past few years. Ein Neuer Tag is their new live album, not to be confused with their studio album of the same name. The Ein Neuer Tag DVD set features footage from several entire concerts.
Much more than just an ordinary single, “Kommunion” offers 6 remixes of the title song where Kash collaborated with Nik Page, plus 6 more remixes of previous Kash songs. A total of 12 remixes makes this more of an über-single.
Krieger is a brand new German rock band who looks very promising. Their sound is nice and heavy and they are under the same management company as Rammstein. This is definitely one to pick up.
One of Germany’s most famous pop musicians is doing coversongs of a wide range of bands from around the world. Nena’s new album Cover Me offers up 2 discs filled to the brim with her remakes of classic songs.
Painbastard’s new album Borderline is sure to please fans of industrial-dance music. These 14 new tracks are the band’s main attraction, following the preview songs we heard back in July on Nyctophobia.
Songs of Lemuria covers bands from Nirvana to Einstürzende Neubauten on their new album, Deep. Their use of gothic-influenced classical music and the beautiful vocals by Michaela Laubach and Nik Page make the sound pretty deep, too.
“New York City” has been rumored to be Emigrate’s first single for a long time (I even told you about it back in July). I’ve seen people deny it in forums, but everyone knows now that it is definitely getting released. The original tracklist I reported isn’t quite correct, considering “Blood” made it onto the album. But in any event, the maxi will hit stores in Germany not tomorrow but next Friday, the 28th. You can expect to find just one remix, courtesy of Alec Empire, along with 2 other album tracks. Emigrate’s “My World” video will be a bonus feature.

+ My World “Resident Evil: Extinction” Video
It’s the last day of August, the 31st, and that means there are a whole bunch of incredible new albums being released in Germany today. As you’ve read over the past few weeks, hopefully you saw some you might like. Let’s just take a quick look back to remember what albums are out today…
Joachim Witt - Auf Ewig-Meisterwerke
Witt is wrapping up the Bayreuth Trilogy with his magnum opus, Auf Ewig. This album features all the greatest songs from his 25+ year music career, remade in a more modern sound. This is sure to be one of the highlights of the year.
Emigrate - Emigrate
After many years as a guitarist with Rammstein, Richard Kruspe found the need for a new outlet to release the songs he had stuck in his mind that didn’t match Rammstein’s direction. He formed the band Emigrate, recorded his songs, and now they’re out on CD. A definite must-have for Rammstein fans.
mind.in.a.box - Crossroads
mind.in.a.box is a successful Austrian electronic group and Crossroads is their new album. The European version is out today, but the CD will be released in America on September 25th on Metropolis Records.
Schallfaktor - End of Love
This latest EP from Schallfaktor includes several new songs plus a slew of remixes by other great harsh electro groups like Suicide Commando and Grendel. With 12 songs, it’s basically an entire album.
Saltatio Mortis - Aus Der Asche
Saltatio Mortis continues the trend of combining medieval instruments with modern day rock music. Fans have waited 3 years for this new album, but it has been well worth it. Check it out, if only for the awesome album cover.
Emigrate launched their first video for the song “My World” on August 2nd on MTV Germany. Fortunately for those of us not living in Germany, the Emigrate site has the video online now for all to see. It’s no surprise that the video features footage from the new movie Resident Evil: Extinction, because “My World” will be one of the songs on the film’s soundtrack. Be sure to check out the video below, and check out the movie when it comes out in theaters on September 21st.
Like I said yesterday, there is news about Emigrate coming out all the time these days. Today, the band’s site announced that the song “My World” has a music video already and it will be aired for the first time tomorrow on MTV in Germany. It will debut at 11:05 PM on the show Brand New. I have a feeling it will be floating around the net pretty soon.
And on top of that, Emigrate announced that “My World” will be featured in the movie Resident Evil: Extinction, which is scheduled to open in theaters on September 21st. The first 2 Resident Evil movies featured Rammstein songs, so it is fitting to have a song by the new Emigrate project in the final movie soundtrack.
The debut album from Emigrate is just a few weeks away, and new rumors are spreading around all the time. The latest reportedly comes from Motor Music which announced that the song “New York City” will be the first Emigrate single, although I have been unable to find the actual source of this information. This song is most likely in reference to Richard’s home in Manhattan, which further builds upon the Emigrate theme.
And one last bit of news: Emigrate.eu has a new web design, so take a look when you have a moment.
Reported “New York City” single tracklisting
01. New York City
02. My World
03. New York City (Remix by Alex Empire)
04. Blood (Non-Album Track)
Little by little, more information about the new solo project of Rammstein lead-guitarist Richard Kruspe is making its way onto the internet, although not much has been officially confirmed. We do, however, know that Emigrate will be released on August 31st, and we now also know what the album cover will look like. It’s pretty cool, kind of reminiscent of Witt’s Bayreuth III cover.
