A new album from Daniel Myer’s project Destroid

Daniel Myer should be a familiar name to some of you. He is the head of the techno-industrial act Haujobb and Architect which is a little closer to ambient or IDM, as well as a newer one, Destroid. Destroid released their first album 3 years ago, and now Myer is back with the group’s sophomore album. It’s called Loudspeaker and it will be out on October 26th (although there is supposedly a limited digipack already being sold at their shows).
The sound of Loudspeaker is pretty typical of the electro-industrial scene these days. Lots of melodiously humming synthesizers, a steady beat that’s trying to sound strong, random samples mixed throughout, and the same old lyrical themes. Just more of the same, nothing too impressive. That’s not necessarily bad, though. I think I’m getting into it. Are you? Take a listen to some full songs on Destroid’s MySpace page or download some MP3 samples from their site’s Releases page.
