Eisenfunk’s harsh EBM finally released on CD

Eisenfunk - Eisenfunk

Last year, Eisenfunk released their first EP Funkferngesteuert online. That helped them to get signed with the label Biohazzard, a division of Danse Macabre, back in the early summer. With this new support, Eisenfunk has made plans to release their first full-length album, also called Eisenfunk, on CD on October 5th. Most of the songs on the album are the mixed and mastered versions of the songs that appeared on their first EP, but there are also a few new ones that joined the mix.

The first Eisenfunk song I heard was “Duck and Cover” and the first thing that came to mind was Feindflug. The sound is remarkably similar, I love it. The rest of the songs are a bit more synthy and don’t really have that kind of sound I’ve always associated with grinding metal, but they are still excellent examples of harsh EBM. Listen for yourself. You can hear 4 of the 13 tracks on the album on Eisenfunk’s MySpace page.

Eisenfunk tracklist:
01 - Eisenfunk
02 - Funkferngesteuert
03 - Atomic Bomb
04 - Duck and Cover
05 - A Tale of Two Cities
06 - Nuklear
07 - Fallout
08 - Schußverletzung
09 - Blindgänger
10 - Citizen
11 - Skudrinka
12 - Duck and Cover (Without Warning remix)
13 - Paranoid

I really like their music, but I wonder about the subject matter of the songs, they are all about bombs and war. Somehow I think a whole album about war would be depressing. I would prefer varied subject songs. But I like the music!

  2. BIOHAZZARD Says:

    Hey Marla,

the tracks are all make not bombs as subject - the global spelling is to tell what propaganda does with the people. Since the later sixties atomic bombs are the most dangerous weapon - and “duck and cover” link that. The atomic bomb and a movie from sixties which describes how you can prevent you from a atomic detonation. But we all know - nobody can prevent. But nevertheless in the past years alle people in all Atmar countries was very proud to have a massive destruction weapon. And that will tell the CD - don’t trust any propaganda, watch your universe and then build your own opinion.

Thank you very much for that explanation! I watched the Duck and Cover video after I wrote that, and then I understood a little more. But your post tells me a lot more and I really appreciate it. I agree completely no more bombs. And I remember as a small girl, doing some of the things in the video, now I know that I would have been blown away anyway, there is no protection. It is great that Eisenfunk tries to get that idea to the people with their CD! Tell them Thank You!!

I think there are a lot of bands out there that have this kind of imagery. It looks negative at first glance, but then when you think about it and pay attention to what it’s telling you, you will understand that the message is not to destroy, but something entirely different.
